Teaching Middle School Science

Here I am at TIE.  I think that I am a little ahead of the curve as far as tech goes, though as I learn from other teachers, I realize I have a way to go.  I am fired up about robots.  I hope to start a club with our mindstorm, then build up to the next level.  Wow there are so many neat things to learn, like problem solving, electricity, measurements, logic and that doesn’t even count robots themself.  Google sketch up has a lot of potential, and I learned some neat tricks on audacity.  But I am really excited about how to use these tools in my class.  I know I, and all teachers need more that the latest, coolest tools, in fact I think too many teachers depend on the programs and don’t apply the proper teaching techniques.  The keynote speaker was good at pointing out that the hardware qand software are not the point, learning is.  Gotta run.
